Assembla Named a Best Place to Work

Paul Lynch on July 19, 2018

While we’ve only been part of the San Antonio Tech community for about two years, we’ve sure been busy. In that time, we’ve hired some super talented team members, pivoted our strategy to better serve the enterprise, and pumped out new features to best serve customers.

This week our team was honored with one of our highest achievements to date, being named a Best Place to Work by the San Antonio Business Journal. Assembla, in its inaugural year of being on the list, broke the top 10 for small businesses and landed at #8.

While we are excited and proud, this award serves as a great reminder to reflect on our business and company culture. What makes us a Best Place to Work?  For our team, this is much more than a third party award. It’s something that we work toward each day, from the most senior employee to the least tenured, across all of our departments.

While we strive to deliver great office perks and team outings, this honor has very little to do with those things. Our team values engaging work, good ideas no matter where they come from, and building something we can all be proud of. That’s what makes Assembla one of San Antonio’s best places to work.

About the Award

This year’s Best Places Award had a banner year for number of nominations: 300 to be exact.  From there, only 75 companies were selected, based on employee feedback, to be included on the list.

This list of top employers is based on research done through independent research conducted by Quantum Workplace, the third party firm that works with the Business Journal.  To make the list, Assembla needed to meet several key requirements as well as score well on the employee survey.

According to the San Antonio Business Journal, “Each of the employers represented here are helping to show that creating an environment that’s fun and fulfilling to work in is a path toward better productivity and, in turn, success.”

While we may not have a massive workforce, we do have agility and common trust to accomplish big things. Thank you to the San Antonio Business Journal for recognizing that and to all of the team members who make what we do possible day in and day out.
