Repository Updates:
Triple Redundant Servers: Last weeks blog post covered the move of subversion repositories to the new triple redundant datacenter. There were a few network proxy errors, but we have fixed those and are monitoring traffic. This week we will continue to finish up the move that includes Git and Mercurial repositories. Click to learn more about the new configuration.
Easy Access to Git Branches and Tags: From within the Git tab of your Assembla space, we have added a handy Branches and Tags dropdown. This provides easy access to browse code by branches and tags and view changesets for branches and tags.
Faster SVN Export: We have increased the deliverable speed of SVN exports. To export a repository, go to the SVN tab of your space, click on the Import/Export sub tab, and click the Export button.
Ticket Updates:
Estimate Reports: In July, we released an optional estimated effort field in tickets. You can go to Tickets/Settings to select the desired metrics – Time, Points, or Size (small, medium, or large). You will see a new field in the ticket header where you can enter an estimate.
The totals are now displayed in the headers of the Ticket List view, Agile Planner view, and Cardwall view. These totals provide an at-a-glance view of the estimated effort for a defined set of work. You can also select "Estimate" as a field to show in filters, and exported CSV tables. We also provide a "Total Estimate" field that includes the sum of estimates child tickets. Future articles will provide more guidance on how to use these fields in scrum and Kanban methodologies.

Default Cardwall Milestone: Finally, cardwall can work the way you want, and show a specific view for your team. You can define the default milestone that the Cardwall view displays. To do this, simple go to the Cardwall, select the milestone from the dropdown, and click the check icon. Now when your teammates go to the Cardwall view, the defined milestone will automatically be displayed.
Collaboration Updates:
Updating and Viewing Assembla Profile: We have made many improvements to how your Assembla profile is updated and viewed.
Now when you select "Edit profile" from you start page, you can edit everything in one location. The profile page is broken into more manageable sections for Basic Information, Contact Information, and About Me (previously Skills). In the About Me section, you can now add links to your social media profiles and other websites.
Your Assembla profile now has a cleaner look that provides your personal information on the left side and your project information on the right side including how many projects you participate in, how many projects you own, how many portfolios you participate in, how many portfolios you own, and a list of all public spaces you are involved with.
As always, you can determine which profile information you want to share with nobody, just teammates, or the public. To see the new profile in action, check out www.assembla.com/profile/adamfeber or click on the image below.
