New features in May and June

Recent releases have added or upgraded dozens of features, including:

Recruiting
You can now post jobs from a Recruiting tool on any space, and browse available jobs on the Jobs tab.

Milestones Tool
The Milestones tool handles tasks and milestones, primarily for non-technical people who don't use Trac.  Improve harmony betweeen roles by synchronizing Milestones with Basecamp and Trac.

Add space tools like Recruiting, Milestones, and Chat, from the Admin tab, Tools subtab.

Commercial Spaces
If you are running a commercial project, your boss wants to know what you are doing about boring but important issues like backup, security, and reporting. Our first version of commercial spaces provides backup, encryption, expanded disk space, and time reporting capabilities for one low monthly fee.

Our collaboration tools will always be free, and hopefully not boring.

Did you know...
  • Trac has the svn post commit hook plugin installed?  You can close a ticket with an svn comment that says "Fixes #ticketnum", or add a comment into trac with "Re #ticketnum".  Trac also has the XML-RPC plugin that lets you access it from a MyLar plugin.

The July releases will focus on two things:
  • Staffing - making it possible to find jobs, hire, pay, and get paid.
  • Improved ticketing and alerts.  We're brining the svn commits and trac alerts into the Assembla spaces, allowing you to select the events you want to be alerted about, and adding an embedded ticketing tool like trac, but with better integration of team permissions and time tracking.

I enjoy your application, but that new bar in TRAC is not so nice. Can it be removed? I rather like that Assembla/TRAC can be used independently (especially TRAC). Thanks, Chris
